While a neutral home decor palette is still very much in demand, colourful interiors are ever growing on our social feeds. And we’re here for it. After a rough few years, we’re spending more time in our homes (by choice this time!) so why not make them a joyful place to be? From bold wallpapers, to fun furniture and bright coloured made to measure curtains and made to measure blinds, the time to introduce a more maximalist style is now.
Adding floral elements to our interior is set to be big this spring and summer. Inspired by high fashion catwalks, expect to see statement wallpaper, printed carpets and of course the real thing - - - lots of fresh flowers and plants in our homes. Bringing the outside in has been a popular feature in interior design for a while now, but this year the trend is going a step further with more colour and clashing patterns. We love the idea of pairing a bold wallpaper with a more neutral, pared down made to measure curtain. This balance creates a welcoming, homely environment and is a great place to start with floral decor if clashing wall art and soft furnishings feels a bit daunting! Gemma styled her dining room beautifully with our Upcycled Cotton Curtains range in Four Leaf Clover. Appropriately named too!
Stitchers have long been a fan of our yellow fabrics, with Flax in Pollen coming out top of our coloured fabrics every year, but now is the time to really introduce this fresh colour into your home if you haven’t already. Especially in winter, we all need a bit of a pick-me-up from the grey weather outside. So waking up to a bold yellow curtain or roman blind is an ideal way to introduce some sunshine into our homes. Easy to pair with a more earthy palette, yellow window apparel is a great way to add some joy into your existing interior decor this spring.
While clashing colours and prints may not be for everyone, it’s far more accessible to achieve this look now than it ever was. Don’t worry about what others think or if a future home buyer may not like it, create a home that brings you joy! Luke Edward Hall has done this perfectly. His studio is an explosion of colour and maximalist style and we love it. Being a creative person, what better way for Luke to express his personality and style than through his own home. Pinterest is the perfect place to get inspired for this interior. From mushroom lamps, to art deco wallpaper - - - more is more.
