Our curtains and roman blinds are made from quality, sustainable fabrics (no polyester here) and are handmade in the UK. This means our made to measure curtains may be slightly more expensive than high street ready-made options but the difference in quality is clear. We want to be transparent about our products and pricing so you can be sure you’re paying a fair price for quality, ethical production and personalised designs, so find out more about our pricing here.
As all our products are made to measure, we have no stock. Milling, making and delivery takes around 10 weeks, depending on the style, fabric and features that you choose for your curtains and blinds. Please be aware that fabric lead times, public holidays and size of your order may affect the expected delivery. If your order is more bespoke and not something we offer as standard, this may also increase the delivery time.
If you have any immediate queries, please contact the Stitched Team on our Web Chat or by email to info@stitched.co.uk with the details of your order.
You will receive an email from the Stitched Team as soon as our workshop confirms the making time with us.
Orders are placed online. Simply design your perfect curtains and blinds using our online studio and add your designs to your basket or save them.
If you are dressing multiple windows of the same size, you can duplicate items in your basket and edit the duplicated order, or simply start a new design! Let us know if you need help, we’re available either on the phone or on our Web Chat.
Yes! Our poles and tracks are all custom made by master metal and wood turners. You can see our full range of poles and tracks here.
Yes, a number of our fabrics are not only ideal for curtains and blinds but upholstery too. You can check out the fabrics that are suitable for upholstery here.
It depends on what room you’re buying for and what fabric you’ve chosen! Some of our thicker fabrics, such as Wool or Flax, may not need lining unless you want total blackout. For a bedroom, we would usually suggest adding blackout lining to your window apparel for a better nights sleep. Our sheer fabric though doesn’t need any lining and is perfect for letting the natural light filter into a room. For more information on all of our lining options, take a look here.
To put it simply, you can either do it yourself or you can hire someone to do it!
Looking to do it yourself? All Stitched curtains, roman blinds and roller blinds are supplied with installation instructions. You can also take a look at our handy online step-by-step Installation Guide or follow our easy YouTube tutorials.
If you are in any doubt on installation, we recommend you seek the help of a professional tradesman. Don’t know where to find a tradesman? No problem, like your windows, we’ve got you covered - get in touch and we can help! Please note; if you choose to book one of our recommended installers, Stitched is not responsible for this arrangement.
It depends on what you order… Curtains will be supplied with hooks. Poles can be added whilst you are selecting your curtain choices. Poles will arrive with rings, brackets, screws and rawl plugs.
To install your curtains and blinds, all you will need is a metal tape measure, a pen or pencil, a drill and a ‘phillips’ cross-head screwdriver. We’ll send out instructions on how to do this with your poles.
If you’ve ordered a pole, you may want to trim it down to the perfect size for your windows, so make sure you have a hacksaw too. It also doesn’t hurt to have some Polyfilla to hand, but hopefully it’ll go straight back in the cupboard.
If for any reason you’re not happy with your curtains or blinds, get in touch with the team and we’ll discuss your options. The order may be resolved with a simple alteration or advice.
Your card will be charged as soon as you place your order.
Yes - like with any purchase made in the UK, VAT will be added to all orders made through our website. For orders made by customers located outside the UK, additional taxes or customs duties may be applicable. If you are ordering curtains and blinds for delivery outside the UK, please double check whether additional taxes or duties are payable to avoid any surprises when you receive your curtains and blinds.
Minimal care and cleaning is needed to keep your curtains and blinds looking great. We recommend periodically cleaning your curtains and blinds using a vacuum cleaner on a low suction, or dust with a soft, clean cloth or feather duster. Do not clean your curtains or blinds with liquid of any type, this may mark and stain them.
If you have any questions about caring for your curtains, please contact our Customer Service team through Web Chat, and they can help you decide what the best method of care and cleaning will be.
We have just launched a new curtain recycling initiative with our charity partner Newlife. When you purchase from us, we’ll complete the cycle and take your old curtains and blinds to either be resold or broken down and remade. Get in touch with the Stitched Team to arrange a collection!
We can use samples again if you send them back to us - - - by sending them back we can avoid any going into landfill! Please send any unwanted samples back to Stitched, Sundew House, Brickfields, Aldeburgh, Suffolk, IP15 5PF.
Unfortunately the chains will give occasionally. By legislation they have to give at 6kg so a heavy tug on a heavy blind can break them. If this happens, contact us on Web Chat and we can give you the instructions to fix it! If you need anymore information, visit the Make It Safe website.
Curtains are generally more expensive than blinds due to the amount of fabric required, and the design options available can be worth the extra money. You can personalise your curtains with the heading, pooling and lining choices. Your choice of curtains or blinds depends on the size of your room and window, as well as any design elements you want in your home.
