Bay windows are typically comprised of three or more windows, creating a recessed seating area or additional space in a room. When it comes to choosing curtains for bay windows, there are a few things to consider for these large windows -
Measuring: Take a look at our easy step-by-step measuring instructions and video here - How to measure a bay window
Style: There are several styles of curtains that work well with bay windows, including single panel curtains, individual panels for each window, and angled or curved curtains. Consider the style of your room and the look you want to achieve.
Fabrics: Depending on the level of privacy and light control you want, you may choose heavier or lighter fabrics. We offer double poles on a bay window, which allows you to have a sheer fabric at the back of the curtain for privacy. If you choose a double pole, the back fabric will be static, whereas if you choose a track both fabrics will move freely.
Mounting: There are several mounting options for bay window curtains, including traditional curtain rods, ceiling-mounted tracks, and individual brackets for each section of the bay window.
Accessories: Consider adding accessories such as tiebacks, valances, or drapery wands to enhance the look and functionality of your bay window curtains. Get in touch for more information.

Our bay window curtains are all made to measure so you can create something that is perfect for you. Here is everything you need to know about our made to measure bay window curtains…
Curtain Lining
Lining is the fabric added to the back of your curtain. We have five different types of lining - lined, blackout lined, interlined, interlined blackout and thermal lined. Alternatively, you can also have your curtain unlined.
Pooling
Pooling describes the amount of fabric that sits on the floor at the bottom of your bay window curtains. We have three different types of pooling - just touching, normal pooling and generous pooling.
Heading Styles
The heading style is the way in which the curtain is gathered at the top. It determines how the curtain will hang and has a huge impact on the look and style. Our curtains are available with seven different heading types - pencil pleat, double pleat, triple pleat, eyelet, wave, goblet and cartridge. See the different styles and how they hang below.
Stackback
Stackback is the amount of fabric your curtains have on either side of your bay window when they are open. The type of heading you choose will impact the amount of stackback you have and it will dictate the length of the curtain pole or track, so your curtains don’t block any light when they are open.
