Can you tell us a little bit more about your home?

“As our first property, we bought something that had recently been renovated but new doesn’t always mean to everyone’s taste! I am a fan of colour and self-expression but the colours felt outdated. I love mid-century style and antiques, I’ve used a lot of dark woods and preloved furniture. For example, the Stag Minstrel side tables were my grandma’s. Then I’ve used fun wallpaper prints and pops of colour (particularly mustard yellows, greens and blues) which bring a bit of modernity and personality into the space.”

How did you decide on Upcycled Cotton for your bedroom curtains?

“Upcycled cotton in Space dust just feels very natural, warm and soft, like wearing linen on a sunny day. The curtain header I chose is quite formal as it’s quite a grand bay window, but the cotton brings a softness to the curtains at the same time!”

Where do you get your interior inspiration from?

“I get a lot of inspiration from Instagram. If you bookmark all the images you love and group them by room or theme, you’ll soon get an idea of the style you might want to emulate. Then mood boards are a fantastic way to start. I love getting samples of all the paints, papers and flooring I’m interested in to see how they work together. Pick things that make you smile and feel excited, it’s worth waiting for the perfect item to come along.”

Having put so much thought and personal touches into your home, where is your favourite place to chill and relax?

“My living room is my favourite, it’s small but bright and we made the most of the space by putting up alcove shelving and sourcing lovely furniture like my record cabinet, mid century armchair and mustard lockers to use as a drinks cabinet.”
