When it comes to purchasing curtains, there is no fixed amount that you should spend. The cost of curtains can vary widely based on a variety of factors, including the type of fabric, the size of your windows, the quality, and the design. However, to provide you with a rough idea of what you can expect to get for your money, we would generally expect it to cost from £400-500 per window.
Our made to measure curtains and made to measure blinds are made from quality, sustainable fabrics and are handmade in the UK. They are also built to fit the exact measurements of your windows meaning they fit perfectly and will be more effective at blocking out light and insulating your home. As a result, made to measure curtains may be slightly more expensive than high street ready-made options, but the difference in quality and finish is clear.
Ultimately, the decision between ready made and made to measure curtains comes down to your priorities. If you prioritise convenience and affordability, ready-made curtains may be the better choice. If you prioritise a perfect fit, customisation and quality, made-to-measure curtains may be the better option.
For this budget, you can expect to find a variety of options, such as roller blinds in a standard size. You may be able to find curtains made from cotton and polyester blends, in smaller sizes and simple designs. You may also find more basic materials and fewer customisation options in this price range.
In this price range, you can find a much broader range of options, including custom-made curtains, higher-end fabrics such as 100% linen and more intricate designs. You may also find options with additional features, such as thermal or blackout lining. At this price point, you should be able to find curtains that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. You could also expect some roman blinds in a wider range of colours and finishes, as well as more blind customisation options, such as motorisation.
In this bracket, you are likely to find curtains that are truly luxurious and high-end. These curtains may be made from premium fabrics such as wool, velvet or silk, custom-designed to fit your windows perfectly and have intricate details such as interlining or triple-pleat headings. At this price point, you can expect to receive a truly bespoke service and curtains that will make a statement in your home. This budget also opens up a range of specially designed blinds for unusually shaped windows.
The heading you choose will use different amounts of fabric and take more or less time to cut, pin and sew. Wave, pencil and eyelet headings require two times more fabric than the final width measurement, whereas double pleat, triple pleat, cartridge and goblet headings require 2.5 times more. Customised curtains and blinds are just that, customised to your wants and needs. Blackout, thermal or even unlined - - - buying with us means you can have exactly what you want, so the price you pay reflects that. Interlining is very labour-intensive so is a little more expensive than standard lining. A thick, padded lining is stitched between your fabric and the cotton lining before your curtains are made.
Each metre consists of 4 recycled plastic bottles and uses less energy and water than non-recycled fabrics, minimising waste through the supply chain.
