Step 01: Cutting poles to size (metal + wood)

Width LESS than 2.4m wide

  1. Mark the total width of your made to measure curtains (or pair of curtains) on your pole.
  2. Cut your pole down to size with a hacksaw.

Width MORE than 2.4m wide

  1. Your pole will arrive in 2 pieces.
  2. Divide the total width of your curtains by 2.
  3. Mark half your total curtain width on each pole.
  4. Cut each pole down to size.

Step 02: Installing your brackets (metal)

  1. Measure from where you’d like the curtains to fall and mark the installation height.
  2. Hold the bracket against the wall so that the top hole is in line with your installation height. Mark your drill holes.
  3. Carefully drill your holes.
  • Brick walls: Use a 5.5mm masonry drill bit, and insert rawl plugs.
  • Plasterboard walls: Use an ordinary 5.5mm drill bit and insert rawl plugs.
  • Wood frames: Use an ordinary 2mm drill bit to create a pilot hole.
  • For poles over 2m: make sure that you mount the centre bracket first so that the pole sits level with the side brackets.

Step 02: Installing your brackets (wooden)

  1. Measure from where you’d like the curtains to fall and mark the installation height.
  2. Hold the bracket against the wall so that the top hole is in line with your installation height. Mark your drill holes.
  3. Carefully drill your holes.
  4. Place the brackets over the holes, screw in the screws ensuring the finial is facing upwards.

Step 03: Mounting your poles (metal)

  1. Fit the pole into the bracket and tighten the screw using an alan key.
  2. Attach the finial and tighten using an allen key.

Please note: if you have a 19mm pole, the finial should sit in the bracket - not the pole. The pole won’t fit in the bracket.

Top tip: place a curtain ring between the bracket and the finial to hide the bracket when the curtain is hung!

Step 03: Mounting your poles (wooden)

  1. Thread the rings onto the pole and attach the finial by turning it clockwise.
  2. Fit the pole into the bracket and tighten the screw.
